Baby Carter has finally arrived! His birth went pretty fast for a first time mother. Unfortunately during birth Carter had inhaled amniotic fluid into his lungs and was having problems breathing. He was sent to NICU where he spent the first five days of his life. I can not tell you how helpless I felt watching a mother cry to hold her newborn son, but couldn't because he was sick. There are so many emotions that go on during birth, I couldn't even imagine being in the parents shoes that day praying their son would be OK. This story has a happy ending because Carter is a little fighter like his Daddy. I can already see it now, a fourth generation firefighter in the works!
